the colors of San Francisco

We stopped at San Fransico for a few days during our west coast road trip this summer. And it quickly became one of my favorite cities, ever! It's vibrant, colourful, hip and youthful! It's impossible to caption the motion and energy of the city, but I hope this photo diary would give you just a glimpse of some magical moments we spent there...

back in Malibu

Just wanted to stop by the blog and have a quick catch up with y'all! Fall has hitted the Netherlands with full force the past weeks. But since I'm still backlogging my contents from my Summer trip to the westcoat and Hawaii, you'll still catch quite a few summer outfits and lifestyle posts here.

Hubby took these photos back in Malibu in June. It took me a while but I finally got around to edit some of the photos and show you guys here.

pretty in black

Over the years I've made a point to venture out a bit of color into my wardrobe. Yes, I've made progress but every now and then when I meet that perfect little black number, my heard would skip a beat and I'd fall back to where I started!

When I saw this simple 90's style, stripy maxi dress, in black, in my petit length, on sale, I walked directly to the cash register with it firmly in my hands. The rest is history..

Holy Grail Products- The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I know I know...Holy grail products? What a statement! So let's call it the cleansers that I can't live without, the cleansers that I buy in bulk or the cleansers that I'll panic if God forbid they ever discontinue the line...ok, ok I think you got the idea now.

In all honesty, I think it's crucial to have a gentle yet effective makeup remover as your first step of the night regime. And then dive in with your usual facial wash. This will insure that you actually remove every trace of your make up and thoroughly cleanse your face before applying any topical treatment or cream. And a good cleansing oil/balm is really the easiest and fastest way to remove a big bulk if not every bit of makeup from your face.

I've tried countless amount of makeup removers in the past. From cleansing wipes to cleansing waters, from high end to drug store, from British to French, this body shop one really is the best I've ever came across. It's very gentle on the skin and sting-free on the eyes and its smooth texture feels very comfortable and luxurious on the face. All you need to do is too squirt one or two bumps into your hand and massage it onto your face for a short minute or two then remove it either with a flannel or just rinse it off with water.

The cleansing oil cost a bit more than a tenner and lasts for a good few months. Let me know if you've tried this product and what's your favourite make up removers.

a summer day in the park

When the Sun finally decided to come out last weekend (which is a rare occasion here in Amsterdam let me tell you!) me and a couple of friends decided to have a picknick in the park and get our tan on!

In these sunny days, the parks are typically packed with excited and satisfied Dutchies getting some laughters, food and way overdued shots of vitamin D! This day was definitely no exception. Enjoying a few strawberry infussed bubblies and witnessing a slowly developed tan appearing on my skin brought me the most joy I've experienced in a long time. Luckily I had Giulia who is an ultra talented photographer/editor with me to capture the day in a few snaps for y'all here.

Now, what's your favorite thing to do in the summer? XOXO

few moments in LA

I haven't done a picture heavy travel diary for a long time on the blog! Not that I didn't get out of town for the past months, but the idea of carrying a humangous DSLR everywhere I go and asking for permission from friends and family to stop at any point to snap away, well, didn't seem that appealing to me somehow.

Luckily I put a stop to this irresponsible blogger behaviour once we arrived Los Angeles. Let's face it the opportunity of being in this infamous hilly town is rare, to say the least.

LA was exactly how I imagine it'd be. Fantastic sunny weather, iconic palm trees alongside high ways, countless sushi bars and Korean BBQs scatter across town, expensive shops, dollar shops, StarBucks, big-ass SUVs, smog and scary amount of homeless people. I had a mental checklist before I got there and every single thing on that list was ticked shortly after our arrival.

I loved it, every bit of it. Its good and bad, the city kept it real and unfolded everything before my eyes. And as much as I love to, there simply weren't good enough photos to do its justice.
