Holy Grail Products- The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I know I know...Holy grail products? What a statement! So let's call it the cleansers that I can't live without, the cleansers that I buy in bulk or the cleansers that I'll panic if God forbid they ever discontinue the line...ok, ok I think you got the idea now.

In all honesty, I think it's crucial to have a gentle yet effective makeup remover as your first step of the night regime. And then dive in with your usual facial wash. This will insure that you actually remove every trace of your make up and thoroughly cleanse your face before applying any topical treatment or cream. And a good cleansing oil/balm is really the easiest and fastest way to remove a big bulk if not every bit of makeup from your face.

I've tried countless amount of makeup removers in the past. From cleansing wipes to cleansing waters, from high end to drug store, from British to French, this body shop one really is the best I've ever came across. It's very gentle on the skin and sting-free on the eyes and its smooth texture feels very comfortable and luxurious on the face. All you need to do is too squirt one or two bumps into your hand and massage it onto your face for a short minute or two then remove it either with a flannel or just rinse it off with water.

The cleansing oil cost a bit more than a tenner and lasts for a good few months. Let me know if you've tried this product and what's your favourite make up removers.

a summer day in the park

When the Sun finally decided to come out last weekend (which is a rare occasion here in Amsterdam let me tell you!) me and a couple of friends decided to have a picknick in the park and get our tan on!

In these sunny days, the parks are typically packed with excited and satisfied Dutchies getting some laughters, food and way overdued shots of vitamin D! This day was definitely no exception. Enjoying a few strawberry infussed bubblies and witnessing a slowly developed tan appearing on my skin brought me the most joy I've experienced in a long time. Luckily I had Giulia who is an ultra talented photographer/editor with me to capture the day in a few snaps for y'all here.

Now, what's your favorite thing to do in the summer? XOXO

few moments in LA

I haven't done a picture heavy travel diary for a long time on the blog! Not that I didn't get out of town for the past months, but the idea of carrying a humangous DSLR everywhere I go and asking for permission from friends and family to stop at any point to snap away, well, didn't seem that appealing to me somehow.

Luckily I put a stop to this irresponsible blogger behaviour once we arrived Los Angeles. Let's face it the opportunity of being in this infamous hilly town is rare, to say the least.

LA was exactly how I imagine it'd be. Fantastic sunny weather, iconic palm trees alongside high ways, countless sushi bars and Korean BBQs scatter across town, expensive shops, dollar shops, StarBucks, big-ass SUVs, smog and scary amount of homeless people. I had a mental checklist before I got there and every single thing on that list was ticked shortly after our arrival.

I loved it, every bit of it. Its good and bad, the city kept it real and unfolded everything before my eyes. And as much as I love to, there simply weren't good enough photos to do its justice.

Summer must have - Honey Bronze by the Body Shop

Wow, it truly has been a while since my last beauty related post. But trust me, this product really deserves a post of its own. Quite a statement, I know. But read on, it might just be something you need for the remaining summer!

shimmering dry oil has been around for few years now, so I am rather late on the bandwagon. but I'm glad I finally took the plunge and purchased this little guy from the Body Shop.

To start off, the Body Shop Honey Bronze smells absolutely divine! (Matter of fact, it reminds me a lot of Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess perfume. )And that's always a plus in my book. Though the taint looks rather intense and scary in the bottle, but once applied to the skin it leaves a subtle golden sheen which mimics a nature glow to the body.

My favourite way to use it, is to mix it with a hydrating body lotion and apply all of the body, focusing on the arms, shoulders and legs after spending a whole day by the pool before heading out for a dinner or night out! The gorgeous scent and glow will guaranty a few compliments coming your way!

A good friend of mine/ talented follow blogger Des took these photos in the historical theatre Tuschinski Amsterdam last week during Amy Schumer's movie primiere "Trainwreck". (wow, what a mouthfull!!)

I've had wanted to do a shoot there for the longest time. The spectaculor interior garanties a fantastic backdrop! So I jumped on the first chance that I got when I was there with Des who practically goes everywhere with her big ass Canon DSLR! (What a dedicated blogger, am I right?!) And I'm absolutely stunned by how it turned out. Hope you like the pictures as much as I do! And what do you think about another shoot with 70's attire back there in the near future?

Till next time!

MTV Pride - Love Has Many Faces

I don't believe that I ever mentioned here what I actually do for a living when I'm not surfing endlessly on the internet and haunting tirelessly for those perfect pair of black skinnies! For 40 hours a week, I'm a music programmer at MTV making your weekend jammin' and shower karaoke session playlists! Not the worst way of making the rent I gotta say!

Every so often, I find myself being part of a great campaign initiated by MTV such as this one - MTV Pride, Love has many faces! An initiative that promotes and celebrates love regardless of gender or race. We've came a long way on this ages long battle for recognition and equality. So let's put on our biggest smiles and show 'em what love means and brings to us!

MTV Pride!

It’s official! #MTVPRIDE is gestart, waar we alleen maar liefde verspreiden <3. Trots op ambassadeurs Kay Nambiar, Frank van der Lende, Digitzz Williams én Martin Garrix! Check voor meer liefde!

summer festival uniform

I'm currently sorting through 83422 photos that we took during our road trip across America. So instead of leaving the blog unattended till that's done I thought I'd share with you my go to festival outfit.

Crop top and denim shorts are obvious choices here, everyone and their mother knows that. But since we really don't get to rock neither much during our so called summer here in the Netherlands, I dust them off and wear them out and about any chance I've got! The struggle is real my friends!

I've added my light weight kimono jacket from Zara (quite a few seasons old!!) and hat to keep some skin shielded from the sun, and of course to add a lil' somethin' somethin' to the look. And of course the kimono will come in handy during the slightly chilly hours into the evening.

Let me know if you guys like this look and what would you wear to the summer festivals! Till next time!
